5 Shore Ways to Clean Up Asbury Park

If you’re looking for a  unique beach to visit in New Jersey, Asbury Park is the place to go. You can look out into the ocean and see seagulls, boats, and sometimes …plastic bags? Are they something that people enjoy seeing at the beach? I doubt it.  There are so many little things we can do to bring out the full potential in Asbury Park. It is a beautiful place to visit. It has a boardwalk with bars, shops, and restaurants. You may not realize it, but there are a bunch of ways to be more “green” in Asbury Park!

If you’re sick of seeing plastic bags all over the beach, here are some easy ways to avoid using them on the beach:

1. Bring a reusable cloth bag. Not only are they trendy, but they are much more sturdy than plastic bags. This means you can hold a lot more while carrying a lot less!

2. At boardwalk shops, tell the person working that you have your own bag. This will also cut down on the amount of bags you are carrying, and you’ll have everything in one place!

3. Pack a lunch from home in reusable containers. Now when you’re eating on the beach, you won’t have to worry about your plastic bag from Subway blowing away into the ocean!

4. Try not to take your food “to go” at the boardwalk restaurants. Take advantage of dining in to cut down on plastic bags and other packaging.

5. Encourage others to use reusable cloth bags. If someone compliments your bag, let them know where you got yours and the impact it is making on keeping the beaches clean.
